Basic/beginners workshop in the beautiful
surroundings of Lake Vyrnwy.
Join wildlife and landscape photographer Jake Stephen on a Beginners/basic Photography Workshop around Lake Vyrnwy. Everything will be thoroughly tailored solely to suit your needs and any aspects you wish to improve upon. I will be on hand to provide instruction and feedback at all times helping you to improve your landscape photography and understanding your camera.
There will be around half a dozen locations to visit and the fabulous scenery around Lake Vyrnwy will be a beautiful place to hone your skills. The workshop includes transport between locations in my 4 x 4
We will start off the day with a brief chat (over a coffee), of what your aspirations are for the workshop along with any requests you may have. Be it to work on a specific technique or settings. My approach to teaching has always been informal and to make the subject as much fun as possible, helping you to feel at ease and put all of your thoughts into taking great photos. Then is off around Lake Vyrnwy to take some pictures.
You will learn how to create blurred backgrounds in your portrait and close-up shots to make your subject really stand out, and take detailed landscape photos. How shutter speed affects your photos and how to avoid camera shake by adjusting ISO. Learn how to add interest to your photos with some tips on composition and put it all into practice by taking some close-up, portrait & landscape shots.
We’ll aim to visit many locations and cover all aspects of photography throughout the day. Emphasis being spent on pre-visualising scenes, composition, looking for interesting aspects to boost your composition, working with the available light, correct camera settings and when to use filters.
Then at the end of the day back indoors to discuss your images with plenty of time for you ask any questions you may have.
The workshop is aimed at all levels of photographic experience. My aim is to get you more accustomed and comfortable with your camera, teaching you how to improve your landscape photography skills in some lovely locations.
